Muscle Mommies Steal the Show

This past weekend, the Philippine bodybuilding scene witnessed another phenomenal competition – the NBPH National Championships held at the Ayala Circuit Mall in Makati on Saturday, May 25th. Coming hot on the heels of another major natural show last weekend, there was a lot of anticipation surrounding this event, especially considering the high standards set by NBPH in 2023.  And let's just say, NBPH didn't disappoint! They managed to surpass expectations and deliver an exceptional competition experience.

The Ayala Circuit Mall once again proved to be a genius choice for the venue. Its accessibility is fantastic – not only for spectators who might need a quick food break, but also for attracting new faces who might not have planned on attending a bodybuilding event.  Just walking by, the energy and the music are enough to pique anyone's curiosity!

One of the key ingredients to the NBPH's consistently entertaining shows is the host, Ken.  His electric energy is infectious, captivating the audience and keeping the competition buzzing. Many organizations underestimate the power of a charismatic host, and Ken's performance is a prime example of how the right person behind the mic can elevate the entire event.

While it's always exciting to see new faces take the stage, a significant portion of the NBPH competitors had already battled it out at the WNBF show the previous weekend.  To put your body through the grueling process of peak week twice in a row – the dehydration, calorie restriction, and carb-cycling – takes an incredible amount of mental and physical fortitude.  These athletes deserve immense respect for pushing their limits and showcasing such dedication to the sport.

The undisputed highlight of the event was the final category – the Mommy Muscle division, showcasing the incredible strength and physique of mothers who have given birth.  This brand new category exceeded expectations, featuring a full line-up of eight impressive "Bikini Mommas", or as we called them, "Muscle Mommies".

The crowd erupted in cheers for these inspiring women.  They had given birth, a testament to the female body's strength and resilience, and yet there they stood, toned, confident, and absolutely owning the stage.  It was a powerful reminder that motherhood doesn't have to be a barrier to fitness goals.  For many in the audience, it was a moment of "no excuses" inspiration.

The NBPH once again delivered an unforgettable competition experience, one that has set the bar high for other organizations.  From the convenient venue to the electrifying host and the inspiring athletes, it was a weekend that celebrated hard work, dedication, and the power of the human body.  We can't wait to see what the future holds for the NBPH!

And without much ado, here is your winner's list...
